The “HANGAR-1” was founded in 2016 by aviation enthusiasts and since then specializes in the maintenance and repair of aircraft – from historic biplanes to complex twins. The focus has always been on the individual support of our customers and customized solutions for their aircraft.

Since 2020, we have been offering our services at our new location in Leer-Papenburg (EDWF). Thanks to a modern aircraft hangar, we can welcome aircraft up to 24m wingspan and a MTOW of 5.7t there.

The passion for flying was the reason for the foundation of the HANGAR-1 and is our daily incentive for the work on the aircraft.
Fascinated by technology and flying, Adrian Schmer first learned aircraft construction in Augsburg after his mechanical engineering studies. This experience was the beginning and the basis for complex aircraft repairs.

This was followed by further training as certifying staff (inspector) for aircraft up to 5.7t. After working as Certifying Staff in PART-145 maintenance companies, it was then time to open his own maintenance shop in Oldenburg in 2016.
Over the years the aircraft became more and more and also bigger and bigger – as a consequence the HANGAR-1 team moved to the newly built hangar at the airfield Leer-Papenburg (EDWF) in 2020 – a place where wishes come true.
