THE FUTURE OF ELECTRIC FLYING –
IMPLEMENTED IN THE LEGENDARY RENO RACER CASSUTT III
What is already established in the automotive sector is still in its infancy in aviation – also due to the high safety and certification standards. In this borderline area of flying, there is little room for experimentation! With yesterday’s experience and tomorrow’s visions, the integration of the electric engine concept into the highly modified racer is being driven forward – uncompromisingly trimmed for maximum performance in the race.
The direct comparison of the performance parameters with the previous 100hp piston engine (Continental O-200) gives us valuable results on the overall concept and the possible integration of the electric engine into other aircraft.
At the end of the development the Air Race E is in front of the team and the racer “eBeeOne” built for it. Eight aircrafts in a circuit of 5km length in 10m above the ground – this is where you decide what the 100 horsepower is capable of achieving and if the magic mark of 250kt (463km/h) will fall.
The dream of the almost silent rush of speed, the fascination of absolute precision and last but not least the love for detail – all this has brought the team of Adrian, Johannes, Martin, Chris, Jochen, Rainer and Michael together at the HANGAR-1.
Whether test pilot, mechanic, engineer or visionary – the goal for the future unites all disciplines in a unique way in a 250kg light CASSUTT III aircraft called „eBeeOne”.
